Adult comics are comic books intended for adults. They may contain material that might be considered obscene, profane, immoral, and even pornographic, in contrast to the traditionally considered kid-friendly mainstream world of comics. Many adult comics, however, feature none of this, and simply tell stories of a more mature nature, as opposed to the fantasy elements of most comics...
The term "adult comics" generally refers to those with explicit sexual content, and is usually separated from comics labeled for "mature readers", although not always. The "mature readers" label is a relatively new invention (although adult comics have been around for decades), and has gained more acceptance in the average comicbook reading demographics which are now aged far older than they were before the 1990's.

In a post-apocalyptic setting in a future where humanity has been subjugated by a computer dictator called International Destiny Machine, or IDM, a young, sensuous woman named Misty has become one of the few humans who refuses to surrender to the mechanical tyrant. Misty’s apparent contribution to the resistance effort is to have gratuitous sex as often and with as many men as possible. She doesn’t plan on it, but it happens nonetheless, almost as if that were the sole reason for her existence.

The Adventures of Misty first appeared in the early 1970s in an erotic graphic album titled “Misty,” and then a decade later in a second graphic novel called “Misty and the Sun Jewel.” In 1991 she returned, 1970s costume and slang intact, in this series from Forbidden Fruit which contains sex scenes originally edited due to the explicit artwork accompanied by equally detailed descriptions.
